Posted by Dan Lizette at Oct 16, 2008 5:21AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Good Morning All,

VBVBA has requested that all of you bring a copy of your daugter’s birth certificate with you on Saturday. Even if you played with VBVBA in the past, it is required that they obtain a copy of the birth certificate each year.

Thanks,

See you all on Saturday!

UPDATE Email Sent this morning!

Posted by Dan Lizette at Oct 13, 2008 5:28AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

All, here is a copy of my email with a bunch of updates from 10/13:

All,

Good Morning! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! I enjoyed seeing many of you at the NSU game yesterday! Time is flying, I can’t believe it’s 10/13 already!

A few quick notes for all of you:

1. Please make sure that we have the right jersey and spandex size on file for your daughter. The final order is going to be placed tomorrow! (I’ve reattached the size spreadsheet just in case – If you’ve previously confirmed with me, or if there is no change – then you are all set! I’ve forwarded any and all updates to Mike already – this is just the original spreadsheet!)
2. Based on all the feedback I’ve received, our team name will be "FORCE". Yeah! I like it, think it will fun!! I will update our website with that info sometime today! (Remember, if you have not signed up for the website, please let me know! Also, if you have any pics of the girls for the site, I’ll be happy to put them up. Also, if your daughter has her own email, let me know and I’ll send her an invite too to access the site! Would be neat if we could get all players / parents on the site!)
3. Our first Sunday morning practice is this Sunday, 10/19 from 10am to 1pm. Please try to attend all or any part of the practice. I know, speaking for myself personally, the more you can attend this Sunday and moving forward, the more it will (obviously) help the girls out, but also give me a chance to starting working with them on the court, see where they are, what needs work, etc. Every bit will help us get a leg up on the season!
4. Last – but certainly not least – this Sat from 7a – 1p is the Yard Sale at Tallwood H.S. Please read the below email from Cheryl Smith for a full update on the Yard Sale! Remember – go through all the stuff, do a Fall cleaning and see what we could get some good $$$ for! I know I am! Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I think that’s all for now… See everyone soon!

Head Coach – VBVBA 14 Force

Hello VBVBA Family! I hope everyone is getting ready for our Club Fundraiser Yard Sale next Saturday, Oct. 18th at Tallwood HS. Right now everyone should be collecting their "treasures", putting prices on them, and figuring out how you will get them to Tallwood. Please plan to have all items at the school no later than 6:45! I’m even asking my neighbors to bring over any unwanted items for our sale, plus making sure they have the yard sale info. I’m posting Yard Sale flyers at work. Let’s do all we can to spread the word! The advertisement is already in the Virginian Pilot Classifieds…we’ll appreciate any other advertising you can get for us! We will be in the parking lot, so you may want to bring a chair when you are working.

Each team needs to have one person bring some change to start out with. Please let your coaches know if you are volunteering to do this, so we don’t have everyone running to the bank for change. What ever amount you bring, you may take back out once your team has collected a few bucks!

Please make sure you contact your coaches, let them know when you will be able to work. We definitely want the players to work, as they need to help raise money for their own tournaments. If you have a table width=‘100%’ to put items on, it would be helpful to bring that also.

We will have a refreshment stand and all teams will donate items, then share profits. We will need a few girls to work this area….I will go around each hour to the team areas and grab a few kids to work the concessions.

CONCESSION ASSIGNMENTS: each player needs to donate one item assigned to your team !!!

18’S COFFEE (Wawa is donating coffee, cups and condiments) 18’s team…please bring tables to put the concessions on, maybe a table cloth . One player needs to bring a box of aluminum foil and others bring a small package of napkins.

16’s a box/package of those small, single bags of chips or pretzels (like you would put in lunches)

15 National bring an 8 pack of hotdogs
15 Regional bring one 8 pack of hotdog rolls, could one person also bring a large bottle of mustard and one bring a large Ketchup.
(Cheryl and Chris Smith will bring a small grill to cook the hotdogs on)

Both `14’s teams: bring muffins and donuts, homemade baked items are fine!

13’s bring a six pack of soda and one player needs to provide a cooler with ice.

Both 12’s: bring a six pack of water and one player needs to provide a cooler with ice.

If I’m forgetting anything, please let me know at cheryl.smith@vbvba.net I want to make sure this runs smoothly and we all have a great time. At 1pm, a charity will be picking up the left overs, unless you want to take your treasures back home with you!

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Cheryl Smith

All, as Tonya emailed out a few moments ago, we are now a GO to begin use of Red Mill Elementary on Sundays from 10a – 1p. I am copying and pasting her email below so that all are aware!

Keep in mind; beggers can’t be choosers, but I’m happy to say we are able to start our open gym/scrimmage time at Red Mill Elementary on Sundays. The time is set however, and there is nothing I can do to change it; we will be there from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Therefore, until you get different information, we will have open gym/scrimmage time each Sunday from 10:00am – 1:00pm.

Make it if you can, even if it’s only for some of the time. Remember this isn’t official VBVBA run practice. It’s just an invite to come and play – there will be scrimmage time and "clinic type" instruction time from one of the coaches as well. And when I say "open gym" that doesn’t mean it’s open to anyone. This is open gym time by invite only; and you are the invited (along with the 13’s team).
There will be times Coach Randy West, Coach Dan and myself alternate being there, but one of us will always be present.
